LHC suspends ECP’s arrest warrants for Imran Khan, assistants

 PTI Chairman, Asad Umar, and Fawad Chaudhry moved LHC against arrest warrants gave by ECP in scorn case

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Monday suspended the Political decision Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) capture warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Secretary General Asad Umar and Senior VP Fawad Chaudhry.

The previous head of the state and government clergymen had moved LHC Rawalpindi Seat against the warrants gave by the ECP before in the day in a disdain body of evidence against the threesome.

The bailable warrants were conveyed by ECP’s four-part seat, headed by Nisar Durrani, last week.

Last year in August, the ECP gave a hatred notice to the PTI pioneers for offending the commission and its head during different public gatherings, question and answer sessions, and a few meetings.

As indicated by the notification, these PTI lawmakers face the charges of passing unparliamentary, unreasonable, and derisive comments against ECP.

While dismissing the PTI Leaders’ requests for exception, the seat guided them today to show up before it on the following hearing planned on January 17.

The commission had held the decision on their requests on January 3, in the wake of getting the High Court’s sign of approval for proceed with its scorn procedures against the previous head and his associates.

Court coordinates ECP to proceed with scorn procedures

During the present hearing, the seat coordinated the ECP to proceed with its scorn procedures against the PTI pioneers.

Seat part Equity Sadaqat Ali Khan commented: “the legal executive goes with choices in view of regulation and equity”.

“[They] take help from the legal executive and focus on the courts in media,” the equity said without naming anybody.

He censured Fawad for considering the courts liable for all the defilement in the country in a meeting with a global Station.

“Targetting courts in media is scorn of court,” he said while advance notice the PTI’s senior VP that the court wouldn’t endure such comments sometime later.

‘ECP’s warrants, affront to high court’s organization’

Fawad reported to challenge the warrants in the high court and record a hatred supplication against ECP, just after the ECP’s choice.

“ECP’s choice to give capture warrants is an affront to high court’s choice,” said Fawad. He said the case was booked for January 17 and the decision was declared today (January 16) infringing upon the guidelines.

 The PTI leaders claimed that it was a “one-sided” choice.

Recently, the High Court had likewise permitted the constituent body to continue with disdain procedures against Khan, Umar and Fawad.
